Instead of making similar presentations like many other brands,
we designed the application of SmARt Engine as the most innovative method to affect and train the mechanics.
Client : Mobil 1
Most vehicle owners don’t know which engine oil they use and often chose cheaper, less reliable brands. Mobil1 wanted to introduce their engine oil to mechanics and educate them on its benefits.
For years, brands made iPad and training presentations to mechanics without success. They found it difficult to get their message across and grab the attention of mechanics long enough to get their message across.
In co-operation with ExxonMobil, we designed the SmARt Engine, a 3D printed engine that starts and moves upon turning the key, as an innovative method of grabbing the mechanics attention long enough for sales people to explain the benefits of Mobil1.
When integrated with the augmented reality iPad application, mechanics can Rev and Slow Down the engine to see how Mobil1 engine oil affects the running of the engine.
This enabled mechanics to experience the benefits of Mobil 1 engine oil. It also became a talking point in not just the garages, but with surrounding businesses.
This project created an alternative and an innovative solution to recurrent and boring presentations, for which we won 3 Crystal Apple and 3 Felis awards.
Our Mobil 1 engine is now used actively in the UK, Spain, İreland, Germany and Russia.
